With that location, it is all unmanned, so the move-in process can either be done over the phone with myself. Or if I don't pick up, a call center rep.
We use StoragePug for our website, and it's a very, very quick online rental. I mean, it's faster than doing it over the phone. It is definitely faster than doing it in person.
Get like all their information and just kind of go from there. The payment is taken, the lease is then given, and then once that lease is completed, the gate code is given to the tenant. The group that I managed for, it was all paper. At that point in time, we had 2800 tenants and we converted them all paperless in less than two weeks, because that was the project. That's what I harped on. We turned esign on. I pulled away all paper leases, and everything was scanned in. It was a nice, fun process.
And at the manned locations, we do have a touch screen. So we dual-monitor so the tenants can sign with a pen."—Victor Diaz
