The ISS recently released its new 2024 Top 100 Operators List (and Top 50 Management Companies list).
These lists rank the biggest self storage owners and management companies by square footage.
This year, there were a lot of Pug Pack members on the lists! We wanted to take a moment to celebrate our friends for doing the awesome things they do in the storage industry.
Of course, this is just a list of the top operators by size—all of you are awesome and run awesome businesses, even if you’re not on this list!
Making this list is an impressive achievement! The storage industry has grown quite a bit in the last half a decade alone, so to be on this list shows some serious growth for each of these operators.
You’re not on this list in 2024 if you stayed the same size you were just four years ago.

Truly reflecting the growth of the storage industry, the top 50 management companies list grew by about 22% square foot since 2023’s list.
That’s insane!
While many of these companies also own their own facilities, they’re on this list specifically because of the square footage they management on behalf of other owners.
Basically, they’ve gotten so good at what they do that they’re able to help others succeed, as well!
