Curb appeal, curb appeal, curb appeal.

We all know what it means on some base level. But what does it really mean when you get specific with a storage facility? Did you know there are different types of curb appeal?

And why should you care about them, anyway?

Lucky for us, we have the wonderful insight of experts in the field like Jane Sauls to guide us! Listen in as Melissa speaks with Jane Sauls of Sauls Storage Group about the different types of curb appeal and why they're important.

Question: "What are the types of curb appeal, and why should you care about them?"

Two different kinds, Melissa, of curb appeal.

And I refer to the first one as your primary curb appeal. And that's what your community sees when they drive by.

Because sometimes we're thinking, like, what the customer sees, but they may not be a customer yet, right? And so they may be running 60 mph by your site, or you may be at the intersection where they stop.

And so whatever your community is seeing and what you're putting out there, that is, like, so important from that curb appeal perspective. What they see translates into what they feel when they see your property. So if they feel good about you being a part of their community. And so curb appeal goes all the way down to, do you have trash on the facility?

And then you've got what I refer to as secondary curb appeal.

Luke said, he was like, "Did you just make that up? Because I don't know if I've heard of that."

Secondary curb appeal for me, is when, that's what your customer sees after they go through the gate, after they rent a unit.

Because sometimes we just think curb appeal. As you drive down the road going 60. And what your customer sees on the backside of that third building isn't important. And how you're taking care of around your retention pond isn't important. Y'all, it is.

It is.

So that is curb appeal. Curb appeal is absolutely any and everything that you can lay your eyes on when you stand back and look at your facility."
